My son is fascinated with the traffic lights. So that’s what we did a few weeks ago.
1. Prepare materials needed. I had green, yellow, red, white and black papers with me, then a stacking cup for tracing the circle, a glue, scissor and red, yellow and green colored pens.
2. I made three circles using the colored pens and used the stacking cup to create a circle.
3. I gave my son the colored papers and made him rip it all off. Much to my surprise he doesn’t know how to do it yet! I mean, he would rip off his books and some of my papers, yet when I gave him the papers to freely tear them apart, he doesn’t know how to rip them off. I tried to show him what to do, but again, he failed. The trick though was for me to rip a small portion on the paper then let him do the rest of ripping. This I think makes it easier for him to tear the paper.
Funny, because he even attempted to use a scissor hehehe.
4. Then I made him paste the papers according to the color of the circle. He knows his colors already, but he still needs guidance on where to put it. I can identify the green, red and yellow but sometimes, he’s just too lazy to analyze on which circle he will paste the paper. That’s okay, he’s barely 2 years old!
So that’s it, I hope you and your kids will enjoy this activity too!
Got this activity from No Time for Flashcards, my favorite site at the moment. They got lots of wonder crafts and activities for your young ones! Just to clear things out, I am not taking credits for this activity. Again, I sourced this out from No Time for Flashcards. The only reason why I document it the way they do is for me to be able to re-do this activity again in the future.
