Letter Craft: T is for Tree

From: No Time for Flashcards

Mavi is 24 months.

This is just a very simple letter craft.  The reason why I gave this to Mavi is because we will be using an egg carton which is something new for him.

1.  Materials I used:  brown cardstock, cardboard egg carton, glue, brown paint (I mixed red and green paint since we don’t have brown), a paint brush and a brown pen.

2.  Again, we started the day by painting the egg carton.  My son was kind of weirded that he wasn’t painting on a paper... but later on he enjoyed painting carton.  When he was bored using the paint brush, he used his hand to fingerpaint the carton.  Did I mention that he really really loves using his hand when painting?

3.  It rained the whole week so it we have to wait for day for the carton to dry up.  When it was ready to be used, I made my son glue it on the construction paper with the other brown paper to form a letter T.  I am encouraging him to use the glue because as I have mentioned before he’s having a difficult time squeezing out the glue from the container.  So he tried multiple ways of using the glue, first brushing it on the paper, then using it as a stamp to apply glue on the paper and finally by squeezing.  He’s improving somehow and as you can see he managed to squeezed out some glue.  I don’t know, maybe the problem might be with the liquid glue itself... it must be with  the container that it’s difficult for him to take out some glue.

4.  And here’s the final product.  A letter T made out of an egg carton.  Just like with the rest of our crafts, I posted this in our wall for him to see.
