Tot School Wrap-Up Week 2

We didn’t do much this week because the little boy got sick.  But whenever he ask for it, I gave him a few activities to work on and most of them were based on Montessori.

Crafts

New folder6

We played a lot with paints this week.  Since my son is also obsessing with Brown Bear What Do You See book, we painted a brown bear.  Later he asked if we could also do the rest of the animals from the book... which of course we also painted. I’ve talked about our painting activity here.

I also printed out these animals based on the Brown Bear for coloring.  It’s a good way of reviewing his color recognition.  I laid out the crayons on a box, would ask him to look for the color of the crayon that corresponds to the color of the animal on the book. He got everything right.

No letter craft this week.

Math

We did cards and counters for math this week.  I stopped giving him numbers recognition as he can identify numbers from 1 to 31 (calendar numbers hehe).  Next week I will try to give him the Hundred Boards but will still continue the cards and counters using different counters for a little variety and fun.

Then I slipped a couple of sticker activity.  This one is a hit and he can work with this for hours.

Language

New folder8

We did a lot of do-a-dot with letters this week.  He also played with his letter puzzles and tried to order his alphabets.

I also made him these tracing cards.  The tracing letters were printed out from here.  Then I cut it out and put it on a foam cardstock using contact paper.

We also formed letters out of these form letter puzzle which I resourced from the internet.  I’m sorry but I forgot the link of where I got the letter puzzles.

Practical Life

Since I’ve been integrating practical life in our weekly activities, I didn’t give him other things to do except for clamping.  I also gave him a couple of paper to cut since he’s into cutting paper these days.  He is still using his plastic scissor for cutting but I am thinking of introducing the steel scissor with my assistance.
